Boyz N Da Hood are back with "Back Up N Da Chevy"!

Block Ent./Bad Boy South recording group Boyz N Da Hood has announced the release of their new album, “BACK UP N DA CHEVY.” The ATL-based rap crew’s eagerly awaited second collection – which features the banging hit single, “Everybody Know Me” – lands in stores and online today.

Handpicked and formed some three years ago by Block Ent. CEO Russell ‘Block’ Spencer, Boyz N Da Hood earned instant stripes for its raw-edged recasting of classic gangsta rap. “I wanted to create something aggressive and hard-hitting,” says Block, “a group that could step up the game for the entire Block Ent. movement.”

Gorilla Zoe: Gorilla in the mist

Atlanta’s Gorilla Zoe has his eyes on the future. The 25 year-old has officially stepped into the Young Jeezy’s position for the revolving-door group Boyz N Da Hood.

Zoe dropped his debut album Welcome To The Zoo on Bad Boy Records on Sept. 25—which was before the Boyz N Da Hood album. Born and raised in East Point, Atlanta, Zoe is part of Atlanta-based Block Entertainment, which includes Yung Joc and Boyz N Da Hood.

Gorilla Zoe talks about his new album

Atlanta bred rapper and Boyz N Da Hood group member Gorilla Zoe is preparing to release his upcoming Block Entertainment debut titled Welcome to the Zoo.

The album features production by heavyweights like Jazze Pha, Sha Money XL, Drumma Boy and others.

“Back in the day, they called the city the concrete jungle because can get ate up out there, but its more restricted now,” Gorilla Zoe said of the album’s title. “The whole world is watching. We’re living like we’re [in] the damn zoo and we’re the animals being watched.”

Boyz N Da Hood Re-group after Young Jeezy, "We Didn't Even Want Another Member"

After breaking onto the scene in 2005 with their hit “Dem Boyz,” Atlanta’s Boyz N da Hood fell back for a minute. Back on their hustle, SOHH recenty caught up with the ATLiens as they spoke about their new project, life after Jeezy, and why the streets love them.

Though the group’s original four-man line up included Young Jeezy, the Snowman has since departed from the ranks, leaving the members to fill the void left by his absence. And while rumored members have included the likes of Lil’ Wayne and Rick Ross, the guys decided on fellow ATL rapper Gorilla Zoe to round out the quartet.

Diddy plots Bad Boy invasion this summer

Sean “Diddy” Combs is planning a Bad Boy invasion this summer with his imprint releasing six new albums before the end of the year.

Yung Joc will kick things off with his sophomore album, Hustlenomics, which is slated to hits shelves on July 31. The set’s first single, “Coffee Shop”, which features Gorilla Zoe is already getting rotation on major radio stations.
