Jay-Z inspired by Diddy on new album

Jay-Z has revealed that the biggest inspiration behind his new album was fellow hip-hip rival Diddy.

Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, said that Diddy – who co-produced “American Gangster” – was so inspiring that it was easy to write the accompanying lyrics to the music.

Talking about their time in the studio, Carter said: “When I get there, he plays me all this 70s-style music – keys and horns – and it takes me back to my childhood.”
