Cassie quit modeling because she wasn't thin enough
Model-turned-R&B singer Cassie quit her catwalk career after she was told to lose weight. The 19-year-old hitmaker was furious when fashion bosses told her she needed to shift some weight and decided to swap modeling for a career in music.
She says, “The funny thing about it was that towards the end of the modeling thing I was told that I needed to lose weight, and it really brought me down. I was just like: ‘Whatever, I’ve got bigger and better things to do.’ And the ironic thing is, since I stopped that and started the singing, I actually lost the weight just through being so busy.”
